This traditional hotel, where Emperor Franz Josef stayed during his hunting visits in the 19th century, is located in the centre of Ebensee, just 300 metres from Lake Traun. Landhotel Post’s restaurant serves international cuisine and Salzkammergut specialities, including fresh fish from the lake. A bar is also available, and there is free Wi-Fi in public areas. Guests can relax on the Landhotel’s sunbathing lawn in the garden and on the shady terrace. All rooms have cable TV and a bathroom with hairdryer. Area information

Ebensee is only a short cable-car ride (7 minutes) away. The imperial town of Bad Ischl and the ceramic-making town of Gmunden can be reached in a 10-minute drive or by train (leaving every 30 minutes). Gmunden can also be reached by boat on Lake Traun.

Travel information

The train station of Ebensee is about a 10-minute walk from the valley station of the Feuerkogel cable car. Pick-up on request. The airports of Linz and Salzburg are each about a 1-hour drive away.

Located high above Lake Traun and surrounded by the summits of the Höllengebirge mountains, the Berggasthof Edelweiss offers a breathtaking view of the Salzkammergut. Family-run for 3 generations, this mountain inn enjoys a unique location on one of the Salzkammerguts most beautiful panoramic plateaus. The rooms are lovingly and individually furnished in an alpine style. The Berggasthof Edelweiss combines a wonderfully quiet and green location on the 1,600-metre Feuerkogel mountain with modern comfort. The skiing and hiking area starts right at the doorstep. A ski school, ski rental and mountain guides can be reached in a 3-minute walk. Please note that the inn can only be reached by cable car (until 17:00). Parking is available free of charge at the valley station of the Feuerkogel Cable Car.

Important information

Please note that the Berggasthof Edelweiss can only be reached via the Feuerkogel cable car. The first ascent is at 08:30, the last at 17:00 (every 30 minutes in between). Please note that it is not possible to reach or leave the inn after 17:00. An ascent or descent on the hiking trail (no. 820) takes 3 hours and requires sturdy shoes.
